Companions for Older People
Companions for Older People is a service which aims to connect people with a learning disability to social opportunities within their community, with the support of fully trained volunteers.
Together you could enjoy a refreshing drink in the local pub, a walk in the countryside, see a new film at the cinema, a football match or share any number of hobbies and interests.
Companions for Older People is for those aged 50+ who would like to be more involved in meeting people and leading an inclusive and fullfilled life. The serviceoperates in the Ross-on-Wye and Leominster area.
Things we do:
A shorter term partnership to assist people to make contacts with groups or activities to give them the confidence to continue alone.
Develop Buddy partnerships, which provide friendship, guidance and support.
Develop the confidence, skills and social network of all involved.
We can provide volunteers to support a new social activity as part of a team.
