Companions for Older People

Companions for Older People is a service which aims to connect people with a learning disability to social opportunities within their community, with the support of fully trained volunteers.

Together you could enjoy a refreshing drink in the local pub, a walk in the countryside, see a new film at the cinema, a football match or share any number of hobbies and interests.

Companions for Older People is for those aged 50+ who would like to be more involved in meeting people and leading an inclusive and fullfilled life. The serviceoperates in the Ross-on-Wye and Leominster area.

Things we do:

A shorter term partnership to assist people to make contacts with groups or activities to give them the confidence to continue alone.

Develop Buddy partnerships, which provide friendship, guidance and support.

Develop the confidence, skills and social network of all involved.

We can provide volunteers to support a new social activity as part of a team.
